Health Care Without Harm is one of more than 20 civil society organizations and stakeholders from multiple sectors on six continents that has called on World Health Organization Member States to pass a critical resolution to control antibiotic resistance at the current 67th World Health Assembly.

HCWH works with the healthcare sector to address the overuse of antibiotics in animal agriculture. “We are encouraged by this very first global effort to link together all the drivers of antibiotic resistance" says Michelle Gottlieb, of HCWH. "From the issues we work on closely regarding overuse in animal agriculture - to the problems associated with inappropriate advertising and lack of monitoring of antibiotic use in both animals and humans, the Antibiotic Resistance Coalition has issued a Declaration which will serve as a basis for global action to avert a looming post-antibiotic catastrophe."
